On September 23, 1997, plaintiff Linda Manniatty, at that time employed at the Swiss Bank Corporation ("SBC"), underwent back surgery. Thereafter, on January 20, 1998, she ceased working as a result of back pain and applied for disability benefits under the SBC Disability Plan (subsequently replaced by the UBS AG Disability Plan). From January 26, 1998 to July 9, 1998, she received short-term disability benefits...
