¶ 1. On the evening of November 16, 1996, Michael Bolton, his wife, Tara, and Cleveland Floyd robbed the driver of a taxi cab. Floyd shot and killed the driver, Ricky Spratt. The Boltons and Floyd were indicted in May 1997 on a charge of capital murder. Bolton, represented by two attorneys, pled guilty to a reduced charge of murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
