OPINION

GREENWOOD, Judge:

¶ 1 Defendant Kent Kirkwood appeals his conviction for Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Restricted Person, a third degree felony, in violation of Utah Code Ann. § 76-10-503(2)(a) (1999). Defendant argues that the trial court committed reversible error under Rule 404(b) of the Utah Rules of Evidence by conditionally ruling that the State could introduce evidence of Kirkwood's past crime if he testified.
