I. BACKGROUND

Plaintiff, Dr. Andrew C. DeSanto ("DeSanto"), was employed by Defendant, Rowan University ("University"), from September 1994 through June 1998. DeSanto was originally hired as a temporary replacement for one year for a faculty member on medical leave, and then, was rehired for temporary three one-year contracts to replace a second faculty member who had accepted a temporary dean's position.
