Respondent is the stepfather of Amanda SS. (born in 1987) and, with Amanda's mother, the biological parent of two sons (born in 1992 and 1997). In May 1999, petitioner commenced this proceeding pursuant to Family Court Act article 10 alleging that respondent sexually abused Amanda over a period of years while he resided with her, her mother and his sons.
