Plaintiffs obtained a money judgment against defendants in Ontario, Canada. Thereafter, plaintiffs sought recognition and enforcement of the Ontario judgment in New York, where defendants allegedly have assets. The issue before us is whether a judgment creditor must show a basis for the exercise of personal jurisdiction over a judgment debtor by a New York court before obtaining recognition and enforcement of a foreign country...
