This appeal grows out of a lawsuit by Calvin Keeler against Putnam Investments, Inc. ("Putnam") and others. Keeler charged Putnam with age discrimination under state law, violation of the Family and Medical Leave Act ("FMLA"), 29 U.S.C. §§ 2601-54 (1994 & Supp. II 1996), and other alleged wrongs.
