NADEAU, J.

The defendant, Edward Pehowic, appeals his conviction by jury in the Superior Court (Mohl, J.) on one count of first degree murder, see RSA 630:1-a (1996), arguing that the trial court erred when it failed to suppress his confession, which was taken in the absence of counsel. We affirm.
