The appellant, Dennis Lee Harris, appeals from the circuit court's summary denial of his petition for postconviction relief, filed pursuant to Rule 32, Ala. R.Crim.P. On December 3, 1998, Harris pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree kidnapping, a violation of § 13A-6-43, Ala. Code 1975. Pursuant to the negotiated plea agreement entered into by Harris and the State, he was sentenced to 25 years' imprisonment. Harris did not appeal from his conviction...
