On the evening of September 11, 1997, Jumanne Smith, while intoxicated, was driving his Jeep Cherokee in the wrong direction on a highway ramp at a high rate of speed, when he collided with another vehicle occupied by Bobbett Grey, her mother, Delores Grey, and her nephew, Jordan Ashley.
