In this appeal we hold that a Superior court trial justice, at a hearing held pursuant to G.L.1956 § 9-20-2 to determine the amount of the plaintiff's damages,1 committed no error in precluding two defaulted defendants from attempting to question and litigate their liability to the plaintiffs by seeking to introduce evidence of probable comparative negligence...
