Based upon his conviction of criminal contempt in the second degree, petitioner, a licensed ophthalmologist, was charged with one specification of professional misconduct. After a hearing which petitioner did not attend, a Hearing Committee of respondent State Board for Professional Medical Conduct found petitioner guilty of the charge and determined that his license to practice medicine should be revoked.
