This is a case concerning recent legislation granting prosecutors the ability to once dismiss without prejudice a misdemeanor complaint against a defendant before trial. Based on our review of the legislation in light of our case law, which requires a showing of good cause before a prosecutor may seek a continuance, we conclude that the legislation is clear and unambiguous on its face and allows prosecutors...
