Linda Mohr was a white tenured art teacher at Austin High School ("Austin"), in Chicago, Illinois. She had taught there for 17 years, serving as chairperson of the art department from 1988 to 1995, until she was demoted in 1995 in connection with a drastic "remediation" of the school.
