This matter concerns the responsibility of a docking pilot in docking a ship at a pier. The Defendant Charles L. Roughton has filed a cross-claim against Defendants M/V Cape Daisy and Shinken Trading Panama Corporation in which he asserts that, by virtue of a "pilot's exculpatory clause," he is not liable to Defendants for ordinary acts of negligence while serving as a docking pilot on the Cape Daisy.
