Bilal and Solomon Pleas were indicted in Fulton County on charges of murder, felony murder and two counts of aggravated assault. The murder and assaults occurred on September 24, 1996. On May 2, 1997 the trial court granted the State's pre-trial motion in limine to exclude evidence of the murder victim's prior conviction for voluntary manslaughter. The trial court stated that it intended to make a specific ruling about the admissibility of the victim...
