This action involves a dispute about ownership of a parcel of land. Plaintiff1 sued to eject defendants from the land and to quiet title in himself. Defendants counterclaimed on the ground that they had acquired title under a theory of adverse possession. The trial court declared plaintiff to be the owner of the property and ejected defendants from the property. We review the claim de novo,2
