Sharon Shoemaker (Shoemaker) brought suit against defendants Dr. Josiah Ekunno (Ekunno) and Christian Hospital Northeast-Northwest (Christian) alleging Ekunno and Christian negligently performed surgery by leaving a surgical sponge in her abdominal cavity.
