MUCI v. POSADAS DE PUERTO RICO ASS. INC.

No. 98-0144.

716 So.2d 294 (1998)

Kamal MUCI, Appellant, v. POSADAS DE PUERTO RICO ASSOCIATES, INC., Appellee.

District Court of Appeal of Florida, Third District.

Rehearing Denied September 16, 1998.

Attorney(s) appearing for the Case

Sidney Efronson and Sarino R. Costanzo, Miami, for appellant.

Concepcion, Sexton & Urdaneta and David A. Pearl, Coral Gables, for appellee.

Before COPE, GODERICH and SORONDO, JJ.

PER CURIAM.

We conclude that section 849.29, Florida Statutes (1997), does not have effect within a foreign jurisdiction. Consequently, the trial court correctly dismissed the claim of appellant Kamal Muci, a Florida resident, against appellee Posadas De Puerto Rico Associates, Inc., for reimbursement of gambling losses sustained by Muci at appellee's casino in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
