On May 18, 1992, the warrant was dismissed by the Chief Magistrate of Columbia County at the request of the Sheriff's Department. In February 1996, Waters filed this action against Berry Walton as administrator of the estate of Bryant Walton for malicious prosecution, false arrest, and false imprisonment.
