This is a motor vehicle tort action to recover for personal injuries sustained by the plaintiff in a 1992 collision of his automobile with a vehicle owned by the defendant. A default judgment was entered, and the defendant thereafter filed motions to vacate the judgment and to dismiss the complaint on the grounds of lack of service of process.
