The defendant, Eugene Lewis (a/k/a Eugene Strickland), was charged by grand jury indictment with aggravated rape, aggravated crime against nature and second degree kidnapping, violations of La. R.S. 14:42; 14:89.1; and 14:44.1. The defendant pled not guilty and was tried on November 18-19, 1993, which trial ended in a mistrial for the failure of the trial court to give limiting instructions on Prieur testimony.
