Fairy Jane Owen was found guilty by a jury of twenty-nine counts of grand theft and of one count of attempted grand theft. The district court imposed unified sentences of fourteen years, with minimum periods of confinement of three years, for each grand theft conviction, and a unified sentence of seven years with a minimum period of confinement of two years for the attempted grand theft conviction.
