Defendants, State of Louisiana, through the Department of Social Services, Office of Community Services (hereinafter "DSS/OCS") and Cathy Cody LaBauve, filed this appeal from a judgment finding them jointly, severally and solidarily liable for the wrongful death of the minor child, Joshua Todd, and awarding to plaintiff, Sheila Todd, the amount of $300,000.00 for the loss of love, affection, service and society of her son and the amount of $25,000.00...
