These appeals concern the estate of James Cornwell, who died on December 28, 1992. Mr. Cornwell's will left his property to the appellees, Charles and Joyce Shumate, who befriended James in the 1980s. The appellants are James's nieces and nephews and are his sole surviving relatives. They brought this action to set aside James's will on numerous grounds.
