Josiah ("Little Joe") Compton pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1), and was convicted by a jury of distributing cocaine base (or "crack"), in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1). The district judge imposed concurrent sentences of 60 months imprisonment and three years supervised release, plus a fine of $500 and a special assessment...
