On November 16, 1995, the appellant, Henry B. Sheffield, Sr., was convicted by a jury of theft of property in the first degree, a violation of § 13A-8-3, Code of Alabama 1975. He was sentenced to three years in prison, which sentence was suspended; he was placed on five years' probation and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service. Additionally, he was ordered to pay court costs, to pay $69,797...
