Ardis Parker suffered injuries from a gunshot wound inflicted by James Peasley. As a result of this incident, Peasley eventually pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and Parker brought an action for damages against Peasley. Peasley's homeowner's insurance carrier, Allstate Insurance Company, brought this action for declaratory judgment, arguing that Parker's injuries are not covered by the insurance policy.
