I. PROCEDURAL BACKGROUND

On February 10, 1994, Gerald R. Caron ("Caron") was indicted in this Court for various violations of 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1), all stemming from his status as a federally-defined "felon" in possession of firearms.
