On February 22, 1995, defendant, Urlease Akins, was charged by bill of information with one count of distribution of cocaine, a violation of La.R.S. 40:967(A). On March 24, 1995, defendant waived arraignment and pled not guilty. After a trial by jury held May 22 and 23, 1995, defendant was found guilty as charged.
