MORGAN, Judge.

James Eldred Carlson appeals his conviction for child molestation in the first degree. We reverse.

In November 1991, the State charged Carlson with molesting E, a six-year-old female. It alleged that the molestation had occurred on multiple occasions during the first eight months of the same year. It based the charge on RCW 9A.44.083.1

A first trial, held in August 1992, ended in a hung jury. A second trial...
