LATTIMORE, Justice.

Appellant Darin E. Dalton was convicted by a jury of the offense of aggravated sexual assault. See TEX.PENAL CODE ANN. § 22.021 (Vernon 1994). The jury assessed punishment at life confinement in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
