Defendants James Tyrone Abraham and Patrick Lavell Cureton were indicted for the first-degree murder of Tariano Gaddy and for felonious assaults against Darryl Foster and Joice Hardin. They were tried capitally in a joint trial. A jury convicted each defendant of first-degree murder on the theory of felony murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
