In 1993, plaintiff Elsie Brown brought this action against defendants Leon Mustion and Loretta Mustion, husband and wife, for the balance due on a promissory note dated May 3, 1988, in the principal amount of $10,000. The note, which was payable "on demand and if no demand 24 months after date," provided for interest from date at the rate of 7 percent per annum.
