The defendant, Billy Joe Cochran, appeals his 18-month sentence for conspiracy to possess methamphetamine, with intent to distribute, in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1), 846. The sentence was imposed following the defendant's agreement to plead guilty to the conspiracy offense in exchange for the government's motion to dismiss the underlying section 841(a)(1) charge, and a charge under 18 U.S.C. § 924(c), firearms possession...
