Plaintiffs instituted this action seeking recovery for personal injuries sustained when their vehicle collided with a taxicab owned by defendant Yellow Cab Company (hereinafter Yellow Cab) and operated by defendant Oliver. The complaint asserted that Oliver was liable for his negligent operation of the cab and that Yellow Cab was vicariously liable for the acts of its agent under the doctrine of respondeat superior...
