A jury convicted the defendant, Edward Williams, of one count of aggravated felonious sexual assault under RSA 632-A:2, XI (1986) (current version at RSA 632-A:2, I(l) (Supp. 1992)). An amended indictment charged that the defendant, between January 1, 1988, and December 31, 1989, engaged in sexual penetration with a male victim under the age of thirteen.
