Defendant Kevin Evans was arrested on January 31, 1991, and on February 13, 1991, he was indicted for his unlawful possession of a stolen automobile in violation of section 4-103(a)(1) of the Illinois Vehicle Code (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 95½, par. 4-103(a)(1)).
