Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Macoupin County, defendant, Robert Turner, was found guilty of murder, aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping, kidnapping, unlawful restraint, and robbery (Ill. Rev.Stat.1985, ch. 38, pars. 9-1(a), 12-14(a)(1), (a)(2), 12-13(a)(1), 10-2(a)(3), 10-1(a)(1), 10-3(a), 18-1). At defendant's sentencing hearing, the jury found defendant...
