Plaintiff Grace Butkewicz, n/k/a Butkis, brought suit in the circuit court of Cook County charging defendant Paul Lewis, a bus driver employed by defendant Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), with negligence, as a direct result of which she suffered permanent injuries. Lewis, called as an adverse witness, related that on April 24, 1985, he was operating a CTA bus westbound on South Water Street in the City of Chicago...
