Plaintiff Vincent H. Alvarez-Pisanelli, a citizen of New Jersey, commenced this personal injury action against defendants Hertz Puerto Rican Cars, Inc. ("Hertz") and its insurer Corporación Insular de Seguros ("CIS" or "insurer"), both Puerto Rico corporations, for injuries sustained when he was struck by one of defendant Hertz' leased autos.
