Defendant Cullen Layton Carter was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual assault (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 12-14(b)(1)) and aggravated criminal sexual abuse (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 12-16(b)). The trial court sentenced defendant to 15 years' imprisonment for the aggravated criminal sexual assault charge, to be served consecutively to a 6-year sentence for aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
