We granted certiorari to consider whether an insurance company is compelled to comply with the cancellation provisions of OCGA § 33-24-45 when the insured has paid an insurance premium with a worthless check. The Court of Appeals held that the insured had coverage under a new policy that Progressive had not cancelled as the statute provides. See Brown v. Progressive Preferred Ins. Co.,
