Appellant-defendant John Doyle Johnson (Johnson) pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm on April 1, 1991, when he had previously been convicted of a felony punishable by imprisonment for more than one year, contrary to 18 U.S.C. §§ 922(g)(1) and 924(a)(2), and was sentenced on September 5, 1991, to thirty-three months' imprisonment, to be followed by a three year term of supervised release.
