Following a jury trial, defendant Andre Williams was convicted of murder (Ill.Rev. Stat.1985, ch. 38, par. 9-1) and sentenced to a term of 36 years imprisonment. Defendant alleges that (1) he is entitled to a new trial because the jury instructions given for the charges of murder and voluntary manslaughter did not accurately reflect the elements and burden of proof in those offenses; (2) his conviction should be reversed...
