This action seeks severance benefits allegedly due by reason of the termination of 16 ex-employees of Amoco Corporation ("Amoco").1 Amoco's nonpayment of such benefits assertedly violates the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 ("ERISA"), 29 U.S.C. §§ 1001-1461.
