In October 1989 plaintiff Ronnie Lee Henderson ("Henderson") incurred over $75,000 in damages as a result of an automobile accident. At the time of the accident Henderson had an automobile liability policy issued by defendant Universal Underwriters Insurance Company ("Universal") that included underinsured motorist coverage in the amount of $50,000.
