In this case, plaintiff Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation ("FDIC"), as receiver for the Barnard State Bank of Barnard, Kansas, seeks to recover on a $245,000 promissory note which is now in default. On August 3, 1990, this court entered a default judgment against the debtor on the note, Universal Barge & Salvage Company ("UBS").
