The plaintiffs-respondents, Maxine and Joe Washburn, sued the defendant-appellant, Grundy Electric Cooperative, Inc., for wrongful death and personal injury. The jury awarded Maxine Washburn $500,000 and Joe Washburn $25,000, and assessed 70 percent of fault to appellant and 30 percent to Joe Washburn and the deceased, William Washburn.
