In this action under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants violated his Fourth Amendment rights by effecting an unreasonable seizure of his person using a trained attack dog. The canine seriously injured the plaintiff in the process of apprehending him at defendant Officer Effting's direction. On July 3, 1991, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the plaintiff.
